4 Day Training Experience
Biosomatic Craniosacral Therapy Level 1:
Craniosacral Foundations & Becoming the Listener
SEPTEMBER 17 - 20, 2026
GALIANO ISLAND, BC
Four days of learning to feel, listen and work with the craniosacral system.
Level 1 is an experiential introduction to Biosomatic Craniosacral Therapy, our approach blending biomechanical Craniosacral Therapy with biodynamic principles and somatic awareness.
You'll learn the anatomy, foundations and hands-on techniques of the work while beginning to develop something that can't be learned from a textbook alone:
The ability to listen through your hands.
Is Level 1 for me?
You don't need previous Craniosacral Therapy experience to begin.
Our students come from many different backgrounds: massage and bodywork, somatic practice, birth work, movement, healing arts and other therapeutic professions.
Some arrive wanting to bring Craniosacral Therapy into an existing practice. Others are standing at the beginning of an entirely new path.
You are welcome to begin here.
What You’ll Learn
We begin by learning to perceive the craniosacral rhythm and developing the sensitivity to notice subtle movement and change beneath our hands.
From there, we explore both biomechanical and biodynamic ways of working: learning precise anatomy and hands-on techniques while also developing the capacity to follow the body's own inherent direction.
Throughout the four days, we'll explore:
The craniosacral rhythm & mid-tide
The respiratory and pelvic diaphragms
Thoracic inlet
Hyoid bone
Sacrum & dural tube
Frontal bone
Parietal bones
Temporal bones
Occiput
Sphenoid
TMJ
Osseous and membranous restrictions
Subtle unwinding patterns
Physical, emotional and energetic boundaries
You'll practice throughout the training, both giving and receiving the work, with demonstrations and guidance from us along the way.
By the end of Level 1, you'll have the skills and techniques to offer a complete foundational Craniosacral Therapy session using our 10-step protocol.
A Level 1 certificate is provided upon completion.
Why Learn with Us?
Our approach to Craniosacral Therapy has always lived somewhere between worlds.
We bring together the anatomical precision and hands-on techniques of biomechanical Craniosacral Therapy with the subtle listening and inherent treatment principles of biodynamic work.
Mechanical meets energetic.
Anatomy meets emotion.
Technique meets listening.
Between us, Kari and Jamie also bring a deep understanding of trauma and the nervous system, which shapes not only what we teach, but how we teach it.
We want you to learn the modality. Really learn it.
To understand the anatomy beneath your hands. Develop your perception. Practice the techniques. Ask questions. Feel the work for yourself. And leave with enough confidence to begin putting everything together.
But we don't believe learning needs to happen through pressure, performance or getting everything "right."
There are no bad questions here.
There are no tests.
There is plenty of practice, conversation, curiosity, support and laughter.
Deep work, held lightly.
Held on Galiano Island, BC
There's something special about learning this work somewhere that naturally invites us to slow down.
Galiano is the Gulf Island closest to Vancouver, surrounded by ancient forest, rocky shoreline, beaches and trails.
We'll gather in the bright and spacious Galiano South Community Hall, conveniently located near beaches, trails and markets.
Our 90-minute midday break gives you time to eat, rest, walk, connect with other students or simply find a quiet place outside before returning to the work.
Outside of training hours, there may be opportunities to gather for a beach fire, catch the sunset or simply spend more time together.
Accommodation and travel are not included in tuition.
Technique Meets Listening
We believe good Craniosacral Therapy asks for both knowledge and listening. You'll learn anatomically precise techniques and how to assess what you're feeling beneath your hands.
And we'll also start exploring another question:
What is the body already doing?
Rather than approaching every body with something to fix, we practice noticing, following and learning when intervention is helpful — and when it isn't. This balance between technique and listening is at the heart of Biosomatic Craniosacral Therapy.
Learning Through Experience
Craniosacral Therapy makes much more sense once it's in your hands.
Each day includes teaching, demonstrations, partner practice, opportunities to receive the work yourself and plenty of space for questions and discussion.
Our mornings begin with guided somatic practices designed to deepen awareness of your own body and internal experience. Because the more clearly we can notice ourselves, the more available we can become to the person beneath our hands. And because the work itself can be deep, we intentionally create space for lightness around it.
We move. We laugh. We eat well. We spend time outside. We connect with one another. We try things and get things wrong.
We take the work seriously. We don't need to take ourselves quite so seriously.
This is soul work.
Learning Craniosacral Therapy isn't only about learning where to place your hands.
We're learning to listen. To notice our own responses while staying present with another person. To recognize when we want to intervene, fix, retreat or make meaning of what we're feeling.
There can be personal learning woven into that process.
Our trainings are warm, supportive and relational, but they are professional trainings rather than therapeutic retreats.
We ask students to arrive with a willingness to participate fully, practice with others, receive guidance and take responsibility for their own emotional process throughout our four days together.
We'll support you as you learn. And we ask that you arrive ready to take responsibility for yourself within the learning space.
Technique gives us a place to begin.
Listening teaches us where to
go.

We've been teaching together for more than seven years and our different backgrounds, perspectives and ways of seeing the body have helped shape Biosomatic Craniosacral Therapy into what it is today.
Together, we bring years of clinical practice and continued study in Craniosacral Therapy, somatic work, trauma and the body. We teach collaboratively, bringing both perspectives into the room while creating plenty of space for questions, curiosity and hands-on learning. Most importantly, we want you to leave understanding the work — not simply memorizing techniques!
Your Facilitators
KARI TOFT
Kari is a Craniosacral Therapist, educator and the founder of Visionary Craniosacral Healing. With more than 15 years of study and clinical experience, her work draws from Craniosacral Therapy, visceral manipulation, medical intuition and years of exploring the relationship between the physical and subtle body.
Kari brings depth, curiosity and a highly perceptive way of seeing the body to both her clinical work and teaching.
JAMIE LEE MOCK
Jamie is a Craniosacral Therapist, somatic facilitator, educator and founder of Cosmic Mother Craniosacral.
Her approach blends biomechanical and biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy with somatic awareness and a deep understanding of trauma, relationship and nervous system regulation.
At the heart of Jamie's work is a simple practice: listening closely enough to notice what the body is already doing before deciding what it needs.
Ready to begin?
Whether you're bringing Craniosacral Therapy into work you already do or standing at the beginning of something completely new, Level 1 is where we begin.
